What would you do if you woke up and you find yourself in a video game? Well in the Escape from the Path: The Dukes of Wrath by Annette Oppenlander, a boy named Max was thrown into medieval German in his game. A game given to him by his friend to play. A game he thought was innocent. Well Max was wrong. This world is filled with danger, adventure and a world that is totally different than Max is from. In the story Max meets Bero a boy who was training to be a squire and shows him the life of a peasant where Lords rule. Throughout the story Max must figure out how to fit in the world and find a way to get out of the game. Does the game end well or will Max be stuck in the past.

The book was fun short read and held my interest. The book also captured the time period and was a well researched where it made you feel like you were in Medieval German. The characters were well versatile and were fun. I especially like this character Luanda the healer who was mysterious, and wise.
