In the year of 2015, I embarked on a challenge and wanted to participate in the Goodreads Reading Challenge. This was a yearly reading challenge where you set a goal number of how many books you want to read in a year. I decided I wanted to be ambitious and plugged in the number 100 for my goal.
Determined to reach my goal I started Where Stephanie Reads. At first, it was a way to hold myself accountable and to keep track of my progress. After months of blogging about books and writing reviews, I decided I was ready to take it to the next level. I registered my domain and signed up for a hosting service.
At the end of the year in 2015, I closed my book and placed it on the table in front of me. I was filled with mixed emotions. At first, I was feeling dog-tired because I spent the whole day reading this book. The other feeling I had was a book hangover. I mean you know that feeling when you just finished an amazing book and had to deal with letting go of that world?
Once I was ready to join the rest of the world I went online and updated my reading status. Suddenly, I realized I just completed my goal. At first, I was speechless but soon my feeling of winning came in. I jumped up and fist-pumped the air.
For most of my life, I have been an avid reader. As a child, I spent hours curled up in my favorite reading spot with a book in my hand. In school, I was a bookworm in the corner reading and was oblivious to the world around me. All I was interested in was what happens next. I wanted to visit the world of my favorite characters and see where they take me.
Reading played a major role in my life. Reading helps me get through the tough times in my life to just expanding the ideas outside of the box. I enjoyed books like The Hobbit, The Robert Langdon series, Unwind Dystology, and The Hunger Games. To name a few.
When I’m not reading I love to sit in my favorite chair and curl beneath a blanket with a hot coffee mug in my hand enjoying my favorite shows on TV. I always defined myself as an all-around creative person. I’m curious and seek different ways to create something. I am a writer but dabbled in design and music.
