The Lesser Bohemians by Eimear McBride Book Review

This book gave me a mixed bag of feeling. When I came across this book I thought it looked interesting and thought this book had a cool premise and cover. And usually, I have a good feeling about a cover and can spot a great book. Except this one gave me a different feeling.

The Lesser Bohemians is about a girl from Ireland who goes to London to attend drama school. This book takes place in 1990. The girl at the school meets an attractive actor who is much older and they both develop a strong bond. Throughout you see how their relationship evolves and changes. Along with that you also get to see the inner feelings surrounding finding that first love.

I really don’t know what to say about this book. I obviously don’t because I found this book somewhat confusing. In fact, the way the book was written was so confusing that I didn’t finish. The synopsis of the book was intriguing and I thought it was a great concept. But, the way it was written where there was the weird short sentence, awful use of function and just bad grammar usage I don’t know why I should finish it. The grammar in the book was very distracting that I didn’t really get into the story and after like 50 or more pages I gave up from frustration. Was this book written this way was for intended purposes? I don’t know but at the same time, I think the book should at least be a little easier for all readers. Anyway, that is my overall feelings. If you want to give the book a shot I will have a link above including an expert as well. And until my next post keep on reading.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review
