Rarity from the Hollow by Robert Eggleton Book Review

Let’s talk about shopping. What if you found out the universe is one big shopping mall and its competitors could mean the end of the universe? What if shopping could be known as a life-saving skill? Well for anyone that loves to shop and a lot like me there is a book about that. The book I will be discussed is called Rarity from the Hollow by Robert Eggleton.

Synopsis

Rarity from the Hollow is a mixture of comedy, and science fiction. The book centers around a girl named Lacy Dawn who lives a hard life filled with abuse and grief from losing her friend. She also has a mom who doesn’t have teeth and a dad who suffers from PTSD and seems to lose it all the time. Lacy Dawn also ends up losing her friend Faith who happens to get murdered by his father. That is Lacy Dawn’s life.

In the story, Lacy Dawn has the power to talk to her dead friend Faith and trees who talk in the story. But also Lacy Dawn friends an Alien named DotCom. DotCom agrees to help Lacy Dawn to fix her parents and get rid of her dad’s anger. Later in the story, Lacy Dawn discovers she is destined to save the universe from destruction. During the story, DotCom shows Lacy Dawn and her parents the secret of the universe where it’s a shopping mall. Lacy Dawn and her parents take ongoing trips to this shopping mall called Shoptiludrop where they work on their shopping skills and are in charge of finding out how to save the universe.

Review:

This story is filled with great laughs and has a unique twist of science fiction. Usually when I read about stories with aliens is like about war, aliens taking over the world or the alien is the main character. The idea of the shopping mall is also a genius concept and who knew that it’s an amazingly useful skill. To be honest, when I started the story I was thinking it was going to be a sad story because of the dad and how he was going to be the major villain of the story. I was wrong and also ended up liking the story. The characters themselves are multi-dimensional where they do develop. I don’t like it when a character doesn’t change or have one side of them. I also liked the relationship between DotCom and Lacy Dawn and how they made a great couple. If the book becomes a movie I see more of a Little Miss Sunshine type of movie(hint hint). If you are interested reading the book it’s available as both as eBook and paperback. The links to where to get the book is below. Until my next book review keep on reading.

Amazing blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers?

I’m hoping to start my own site soon but I’m a little lost
on everything. Would you propose starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally confused ..
    Any tips? Thanks!
