Synopsis

Back to the end of the world of The 5th Wave. In The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey, we continue on where we left off bringing back characters: Cassie, Ben, and Ringer in this post-apocalyptic world. The book brings the suspense and the thrillers of the book along with the science fiction areas along. Cassie must protect her brother while being forced to tag along with Ben and his friends after escaping Safe Haven. Cassie also must deal with the loss of Ethan. The Infinite Sea also focuses on the other main character Ringer when she goes on a mission on her own but turns for the worse when she is captured by the enemy. Throughout the story, the characters must do what they can to survive and confront their past. But also the character must deal with the truths that are behind the attack on humanity but The Others.

I was really excited to find out what happens next and see where the story leads me. The book kept the suspense and action that the first book had. I also enjoyed seeing my favorite characters in the book and getting to learn more about the other side characters from the first book. The Infinite Sea also has more plot twists and secrets that know how to get you guess without throwing everything at you at once. What I also liked is learning more about Ringers past and how she became Ringer we all know. Though the one thing I didn’t like was the way the book was structured. I wish that since the book is split into sections I wish they would let us know which character’s point of view it is. It took me awhile to figure which character I am reading about.
