On this week’s review I was thrown back into the world of the Truthwitch with the sequel Windwitch. This book brings you back to wonderful world of magic, adventure and powerful female characters. At the start of the book we find Merik after he survives an explosion that destroys his ship and the kills his crew. Merik must fend for himself and find out he was behind the destruction. Luckily he has the help of his first mate Cam who helps guide him through rumble. Searching for answers in his own kingdom leads him to a world of secrets.
The story also brings to Iseult who was left on her own after Safi left. Iseult embarks on a quest to rescue Safi but gets help from an unlikely ally in the Bloodwitch. Iseult finds out that the Bloodwitch has a hidden agenda of his own that could be put Iseult at risk. Could she trust him?
Somewhere on the seas Safi is trusted to work with the Empress of Morstoki. ALl of the sudden their ship explosives and leaves them on their own to fend themselves. Soon they find themselves in danger and must rely on the their smarts to get them through.
My Thoughts
The book was amazing. The book had action, adventure, pirates and a great dose of strong female characters. I had so much fun reading and after waiting a whole year I was not disappointed. Starting off with the world of the Witchlands got bigger and throughout the book it took me to other parts o f the world. I also enjoyed the action fighting scenes from the last book and Windwitch brought more action. From the mix of magic to the sword fighting it was fun. The interactions of the characters were enjoyable. I like the way that Iseult’s relationship with the Bloodwitch development and changed throughout the story. Lastly I enjoyed being introduced to the news characters to book especially the female characters. I am hoping for a movie for the series or a show that can be on CW or HBO or something. Until my next review keep on reading.
