August TBR List

I am excited for August because on my TBR list there are a ton of exciting books. On this TBR I will be reading a couple of sequels from books I read last month but also books that have a movie coming out next month. Below I have a video talking about the books I will be reading.

Traitor to the Throne by Alwyn Hamilton

One of the books I will be reading is Traitor to the Throne. This is the sequel to Rebel of the Sands. Both books take place in a fantasy world that is similar to Aladin. This story also focuses on a girl named Amani who dreams of leaving her hometown in hopes of being free and to be able to see the world. Later she gets tangled up with the foreigner Jin who is wanted for treason. Both Amani and Jin go on the game and get involved in the middle of a rebellion that wants to be free from the evil sultan. The book picks up where the last book and I am sure it holds more magic and djinns in it.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo

After reading the first book Six of Crows I was sucked to the world that Leigh Bardugo built. Six of Crows has a mixture of fantasy, action and great characters that held me to my seat. I also enjoyed the elements that were inspired by the culture of Russia. In the second book, I will be continuing on with a story with great expectations.

The Glass Castle by Jennette Wells

I don’t know a lot about The Glass Castle except that it has a movie coming out this summer. I know the book is a memoir about the author and the trailer for the movie looked like a great story that I must pick up. Though from what my sister has told me it seemed like a great book.

The Gunslinger by Stephen King

I been wanting to pick this book up and always wanted to read a Stephen King book but always had to put it off. I mean his books look really intimating and he has so many to choose from. So, after seeing The Dark Tower trailer I knew that The Gunslinger was going to be a great place to start. Plus I like the fact that it has its fantasy elements.

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle

I heard A Wrinkle in Time was a good book and I love fantasy books. I love reading about new worlds and magic and wanted to jump into this world. I also thought the trailer looked fascinating and imaginative as well.

That is my list for my TBR. I might add more books during the month and discover more. Let me know in the comments below if you read or heard about these books? What do you think of my TBR? And are you a fan of Six of Crows? Well, until next time keep on reading.

Labor Day Reading TBR

This weekend is Labor weekend I created a TBR List of books I am planning on reading. Originally I was going out of town but due to poor weather it was cancelled. Luckily I have the books that was planning to read for the trip at home and ready to go. So I decided to read a few books. I will be finishing Orange is the New Black by Piper Kerman, Confessions of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella, and The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler. This week I was in the mood for chick flicks and wanted to read some that had a movie adaption to so I can read them later. So here is the question for you guys. What books are you reading for Labor Day? What are your plans? Are you going to beach or just chilling out with friends? Well until my next post keep on reading.
