Hi, guys. It is Friday and today I am back with another post. And today I will be talking about the ways I save on books. I go, to be honest, I think books are expensive and my own personal financial situation makes it hard to buy expensive books all the time. I also know that many others who just starting out with book blogging or even booktube can’t always afford books all the time so I am here give you my tips on how I get my books without breaking the bank. So in this post, I will be broken this subject into two different posts. Today I will be covering physical books and on my next post will be about e-books.
Starting things off I will be skipping out on buying physical books online because I don’t really shop for books online unless I got a gift card for my birthday or Christmas because I find shipping cost to be pricey for me.
One of my favorites places to go is a used bookstore. I love how each store is different and you never know what you’ll find. I also like the fact that you can walk in and not have to worry about a sales person following you around and asking you if you need something like tens times. Which sadly happens to me a lot when I shop at other stores(Victoria’s Secret). Another thing about used bookstore is the fact that most of the books are affordable. The books can go between $5 to a $1 depending on the store. Another great reason I like about Used bookstores is that you can trade in your own books for either money or store credit and can use to buy more books. But note to not expect to be paid a fortune just probably $10 bucks or less. Just check with the bookstore.
In the Streets:
This is something I learned on a nice day while going to a gelato store in my area. I was walking down the street and spotted a chair and on it had junk all over. It even had old books, papers and so on. Along with the stuff on the chair, there was a sign that said: “Free take it”. I decided to take home one of the books that were on my TBR list and since then I came up with this tip. If you are even walking down the street or just anywhere and see a book that interests you just take it. Someone has to give it a home and give it some one appreciation.
Library Book Sales:
Another great place I love getting books is library book sales. I got to say that this is my favorite place because I visit and support the local libraries I go to. I also can return the books I borrowed and then buy books. Most library books sales happen once a month and last a certain amount of time. Usually a week or a few days. What I like about library book sales is that you never know what you are going to find and can find that hidden gem. I also like the super dirt prices. In fact, the prices are so low I barely spend more than $4 at a book sale. By the way, my personal library has a $1 a Bag day where for just one dollar I get can a whole bag full of my choice of books. Deals like these vary depending on the library but these sales are great for anyone who wants to do book haul videos.
So those are my favorite ways to get books. I hope this list helps you on your journey to finding books and as well saving money on them too. If you totally enjoyed this post do share it on social media. And if you have any suggestions let me know in the comments below and until next keep on reading.

- Title: American Gods
- Episode: 1
- Channel: Starz
- Buy Episode: See the episode
If you been watching Starz you probably heard of the show American Gods. This show is based on the book by Neil Gaiman. This is a fantasy novel that combines mystery, mythology, and adventure as well. For those that haven’t heard of the show or the book, I will tell you more about it. This story is about an ex-convict named Shadow is gets released and learns about his wife getting killed in an accident. On the way home to go see her, he runs into a mysterious man named Mr. Wednesday wants to offer a job. Reluctantly Shadows takes the job and goes on a road trip with Mr. Wednesday. Throughout the story, Shadows finds out a war is coming. A war between new gods and old gods. Like the book says a storm is coming.
I wasn’t sure what to expect but from what I seen from the previews and reviews. After watching the series I am glad that I got to check out the first episode because there are a lot of great things about it. For one Neil Gaiman, the author has extremely involved the making of the show and you tell he has. The characters that were introduced match the characters in the book. From the character Mr. Wednesday who got to be the highlight of the show to Mad Sweeney the leprechaun. I thought the actor who plays Mr.Wednesday did a great job. Mr. Wednesday is smart, cunning and mysterious and I think the actor brought that on. I also thought the guy who played Mad Sweeney lived up to the name Mad Sweeney.
Other things I liked about the show was the effects. I thought the effects were beautiful and the way they created each scene was amazing. I really enjoyed the dream sequences and how they made look like you were in the dream with Shadow. The only differences were the Buffalo man who in the show was an actual Buffalo but that didn’t bother me. For the soundtrack, this was my favorite part. From the opening song that gave the show, it’s mysterious, and haunting feel that tends to make you want to watch it. If you saw the opening it was creepy but beautiful at the same time. The way they combined the different kinds of faiths and myths together.
My final verdict of this episode is that its a must watch. I can’t wait to see more of the show and see more of the characters. I especially can’t wait to see Easter who is one of my favorite characters. For those are interested you check it out on Starz on Sundays. Until my next post keeps on reading.

- Title: The Infinite Sea
- Author: Rick Yancey
- Series: The 5th Wave
- Year Published: 2014
- Page Count: 300
- Goodreads: Here
- Buy Book: On Amazon
Back to the end of the world of The 5th Wave. In The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey, we continue on where we left off bringing back characters: Cassie, Ben, and Ringer in this post-apocalyptic world. The book brings the suspense and the thrillers of the book along with the science fiction areas along. Cassie must protect her brother while being forced to tag along with Ben and his friends after escaping Safe Haven. Cassie also must deal with the loss of Ethan. The Infinite Sea also focuses on the other main character Ringer when she goes on a mission on her own but turns for the worse when she is captured by the enemy. Throughout the story, the characters must do what they can to survive and confront their past. But also the character must deal with the truths that are behind the attack on humanity but The Others.
I was really excited to find out what happens next and see where the story leads me. The book kept the suspense and action that the first book had. I also enjoyed seeing my favorite characters in the book and getting to learn more about the other side characters from the first book. The Infinite Sea also has more plot twists and secrets that know how to get you guess without throwing everything at you at once. What I also liked is learning more about Ringers past and how she became Ringer we all know. Though the one thing I didn’t like was the way the book was structured. I wish that since the book is split into sections I wish they would let us know which character’s point of view it is. It took me awhile to figure which character I am reading about.
